If you use certain services of Immersive Translate provided by us or our affiliated companies, and such services have separate privacy policies, the corresponding services or products shall be subject to the corresponding privacy policies; if no separate privacy policy is established, this Policy shall also apply to such products or services.
I. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information
As a personal information processor, we will follow the principles of legality, legitimacy, necessity, and good faith to collect and use your personal information for the purposes described below:
1. Account Registration, Login, and Authentication
To ensure the security of your personal space, you need to register and log in before you can use the relevant services normally. When registering and logging in, you need to provide us with your mobile phone number and set a login password, and verify by entering a verification code so that we can verify your user identity. Mobile phone numbers are necessary information to fulfill the requirements of national laws and regulations regarding real-name registration on the Internet. If you do not provide a mobile phone number for registration and login, we may not be able to provide you with this Service.
You can use a third-party account to log in and use this Service. With your consent, we will obtain your public information registered on the third-party platform (avatar, nickname, and other information you authorize) to bind with your Service account, so that you can directly log in and use this product and related services. When you use third-party login or sharing services, we will obtain necessary information according to your authorization.
2. Translation Features
When you use the web page translation feature, we will send the page text content to the translation service provider you choose to complete the translation processing. We only process the relevant text for the purpose of implementing the function and take technical measures to ensure the security of data transmission. We recommend that you avoid using this feature on pages containing personally sensitive information. If it involves personal information of others, please ensure that you have obtained the corresponding authorization.
When you use the text translation feature, we will send the text content you input or paste to the translation service provider for processing. If you choose to paste content from the system clipboard, we will access the text information in the clipboard. We recommend that you avoid entering personally sensitive information in text translation. If it involves personal information of others, please ensure that you have obtained legal authorization in advance.
When you use the document or image translation feature, we will collect the files or images you select, extract text content from them, and send it to the translation service provider to achieve translation. We recommend that you avoid translating files or images containing personally sensitive information. If it involves personal information of others, please be sure to obtain the corresponding authorization before translation. You can provide feedback on the translation results, and we will collect the feedback content and related files you submit to optimize translation quality and service experience.
When you use the BabelDOC document translation feature, we will process uploaded files and error logs during the translation process through encryption and de-identification technology, and use them to improve service quality without being able to identify personal identity. If you do not want the relevant data to be used for experience improvement, you can check the corresponding records and perform deletion after the translation is completed.
3. Purchases
If you purchase membership services, we may collect order records and payment channel information (such as WeChat/Alipay, excluding original bank account data). When you use third-party payment, we will obtain necessary information according to your authorization.
4. Feedback
If you use the feedback feature, we will collect your problem description and mobile phone number or email address to understand your needs and process feedback. Such information is necessary to provide this feature. To verify identity, clarify problem handling solutions, or assist in resolving other related issues, we may contact you through the mobile phone number or email address you provide. When providing feedback services related to your use process, we may query relevant usage information, including your conversation records with customer service personnel and historical problem feedback records.
If you contact us directly through the channels described in the "Contact Us" section of this Policy, including providing feedback, complaints, appeals, or inquiries, to ensure account and system security, we need you to provide account information to complete identity verification. Such information is necessary information in the user feedback process. During the processing, to assist in solving problems and recording handling solutions and results, you may need to provide relevant supporting materials, and the system will also record communication content to better solve the problems you consult and continuously improve service quality. If you do not provide the above information, we may not be able to provide you with feedback results in a timely manner, but this will not affect your normal use of the basic functions of this Service. At the same time, we recommend that you avoid actively submitting personally sensitive information in feedback. If the content provided involves personal information of others, please be sure to obtain legal authorization in advance to avoid the risk of information leakage.
When you provide feedback on translation issues on the current page by clicking the Immersive Translate floating ball, the plugin panel - More, and the problem feedback on the document translation page, we will also collect the link of the page you visited, the translated page HTML content, plugin version, plugin configuration information, and the browser kernel type used, to more accurately locate and solve the problems you encounter.

X. Safari Extension Permissions Explanation
When you enable the Immersive Translate extension in Safari, you will see a permission prompt stating: "This extension can read and modify sensitive information, including bank card information." We understand this may cause some concerns, so we would like to provide some background information and reiterate our privacy commitments:
1. What does this prompt mean?
This prompt informs you that our translation extension needs permission to read and modify webpage content so it can provide translation services while you browse. This means the extension can see and process the text you are viewing and translate it into your specified language.
About "sensitive information": Technically, the extension does have the capability to read all content on a webpage, including potentially sensitive data, but in actuality, our translation extension only processes text for translation and does not "pay attention to" or "collect" your private information, such as bank card information.
2. Why is this prompt shown only in Safari, but not in other browsers (such as Chrome or Edge)?
This is mainly due to different privacy protection policies and prompt mechanisms across browsers. Safari is more likely to inform users in advance about all possible permission requests, even if these permissions are only minimally used in actual operations. Chrome may feel that if the extension developer has already declared how these permissions are used, no additional warning is necessary. Safari’s approach is intended to ensure users have full awareness of any installed extensions, even if these permissions are used under very limited circumstances or not at all.
3. How do we use these permissions?
The permission to access and modify webpage content allows our extension to translate the content you see from one language to another. Whether in Safari or Chrome, we are acutely aware of the importance of privacy and promise not to request unnecessary permissions unless absolutely needed. We encourage all users, whether using Safari or Chrome, to read our privacy policy to gain a deeper understanding of how we collect, use, and protect your data. Our policy clearly sets out our privacy commitment and practices.
If you have any questions or require clarification regarding our privacy policy, please feel free to contact us at support@immersivetranslate.cn.
XI. Protection of Minors

We do not actively collect personal information from minors under the age of 14 (children). If we discover or receive feedback that we have inadvertently collected children’s personal information without prior parental consent, we will endeavor to delete such information as soon as possible.
- If you are a parent or guardian of a minor and have any questions, comments, suggestions, complaints, or requests regarding the matters set out in this Policy, please contact us via the methods described in the "Contact Us" section.
XII. Information Security
We take technical and management measures, including encrypted transmission, access control, and minimized authorization, to prevent data leakage, misuse, or loss.
If a personal information security incident occurs, we will promptly notify you and report to the relevant authorities as required by law and regulations.

Your continued use of our products and services constitutes your acknowledgment and acceptance of our updates. Please note, actions and activities before account cancellation or before stopping the use of this Service remain governed by this Policy.
- For major changes that may substantially reduce your rights under this personal information protection policy, we will provide more prominent notice (including but not limited to special prompts on browsing pages) explaining the specific changes in this Policy.
- We encourage you to review this Policy while using our products and/or services.
